Code of Conduct
The Code of Conduct is intended to regulate the conduct of registered migration agents. It is to be displayed prominently in a registered migration agent’s office and reception area.
Code of Conduct (the Code)
The Code details the professional and ethical standards for registered migration agents.
It is legally provided for in section 314 of the Migration Act 1958, and it is prescribed in Schedule 2 of Regulation 8 of the Migration Agents Regulations 1998.

Breaches of the Code
The Office of the MARA may impose a sanction on the agent if a breach of the Code is found to have occurred.
Sanctions include:
- cautions
- suspension of registration, or
- the cancellation of registration.
If you believe that a registered migration agent has breached the Code, you can write to the Office of the MARA using the complaints form.
